Born and raised in northern New Jersey, Nick Sevano has been a language arts educator in the Clark County School District since 1995.  He is a graduate of UNLV’s College of Education (BA, 1995) and College of Liberal Arts (MA, 2002) and has been a member of the National Speech and Debate Association for fourteen years.  This year marks his second year involved with the International Baccalaureate Programme at Spring Valley High School, having taught in the Middle Years Programme during 2017-2018.  As a first-year DP instructor in language arts, he is excited to be working with such passionate and motivated students and peers.  This is also his first year on the board for NAIBWS, serving as DP liason.  In his spare time, when not grading or reading, he looks back fondly on the days when he could play Van Halen’s “Eruption” on guitar with his eyes closed.
