
President - Hannah Harris

Hannah is a Learning Strategist at Sandy Searles Miller Academy for International Studies. This is her 7th year teaching and her 6th year at Sandy Miller. She is originally from Ohio and went to Kent State University. (Go Flashes and Go Ohio State!!!!) She graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education and also holds an IB Certificate in Teaching and Learning. She loves mentoring other teachers and sharing her passion of IB teaching. Hannah will serve as our Vice President, and hopes to increase the awareness of IB in the state, support teachers in becoming knowledgeable about IB, and continue on with the great work that NAIBWS has done. She was previously our PYP liaison for 2 years.
Vice President - Amy Reed

Amy Reed is currently the DP Coordinator and IB Literature instructor at Palo Verde High School. She has been teaching in the district for 22 years, and previously taught in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Amy received her Bachelor of Arts in Literature from Whitman College and her masters in English education from the University of Minnesota. In addition to teaching and learning, Amy enjoys outdoor activities, music, and of course, reading.

Secretary - Tell Shappley

Tell is currently the NAIBWS secretary. Tell is currently a Learning Strategist at Spring Valley High School. Prior to that, he has been a DP Coordinator, and taught DP Business Management, History, Psychology and Theory of Knowledge. Before coming to Spring Valley, Tell breifly worked for the CCSD Magnet Office, taught at Green Valley High School, and lived and taught abroad in Saudi Arabia for eight years and China for five years. He is a course facilitator in the Western (Ontario) University's IBEC program and is an examiner for DP History and the Extended Essay. Tell is enthusiastic and passionate about IB education.
Board Member - Dr. Anne Grisham

Anne is the former principal of Sandy Searles Miller Academy for International Studies, the first school in Nevada to be authorized as a Primary Years Programme (PYP) school. She retired from the school district in 2017 after working in the central office assisting all IB programmes. Currently, she works on behalf of the IB as an independent consultant providing support for new IBEN developments such as training for programme and evaluation leaders, workshop leaders, and consultants. She teaches a number of workshops for the IB during the course of the year, and is the evaluation leader/chair on a number of evaluation visits throughout the school year.

Northern Nevada Representative=Jennifer Leinau

Jennifer is the IB program Coordinator at East Wooster High School in Reno, Nevada. Wooster High School is one of our IB schools that specializes in the Diploma Programme and is one of our few high schools in the state of Nevada to offer the rigorous program. Jennifer is currently serving as our Northern Nevada Representative.
PYP Representative - Rebecca Rigby

Rebecca is an elementary teacher at Piggott Academy of International Studies, currently teaching fifth graders. This is her tenth year in education, her third in CCSD, and first (of many) years at Piggott Academy. Rebecca is originally from a very rural area in Idaho and enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, mountain biking, running trails, and playing games like pickleball and basketball with her family of four boys and an incredibly supportive husband. This is her first year serving as the PYP Liaison for the NAIBWS Board. Rebecca is looking forward to sharing her passion for the IB program with other educators.
MYP Representative-Kristine Konruff

Kristine Konruff has been an IB MYP Language and Literature teacher at Roy Martin Middle School since 2005 and has seen the IB program grow in both her school and in Clark County. In trying to apply the IB philosophy to her craft of teaching, she has taken advantages of multiple trainings over the years. In addition to being an enthusiast IB educator, Kristine has been a yearbook advisor since she started teaching in 1997, so it is not unusual to see her walking around taking pictures. Having always lived in the West, Kristine earned her BS in Secondary English Education from Utah State University and her MA in Reading from Grand Canyon University. Kristine taught high school English in rural Nevada for seven years before moving to Las Vegas, and she still has an undying affinity for endless desert views and small-town living.
DP Representative-Nicolas Sevano

Born and raised in Northern New Jersey, Nick Sevano has been a language arts educator in the Clark County School District since 1995. He is a graduate of UNLV's College of Education (BA, 1995) and College of Liberal Arts (MA, 2002) and has been a member of the National Speech and Debate Association for 14 years. He taught MYP from 2017-2018 and has been at the high school level since. In his spare time, when not grading or reading, he looks back fondly on the days when he could play Van Halen's "Eruption" on guitar with his eyes closed.
